Topshop And Adidas Team Up For a brand new Collection

Topshop have collaborated with Adidas on a brand new collection

Topshop and Adidas Originals have joined forces to create a brand new collection, mixing fashion with performance wear.

Fashion’s love for sportswear was bubbling away for a while, and now it’s fully out within the open – just check out the trainers Karl Lagerfeld sent down his Chanel couture catwalk last month for proof. That’s one relationship that won’t ending anytime soon.

Dubbed Topshop X Adidas Originals, the 20-piece collection sees the sportswear giant’s staple pieces given a fresh and female fashion makeover.

That means Adidas’s iconic three-strip tracksuit trousers was tailored to lead them to fitted, while the white logo have been reworked with a floral design. These pieces are intended as much for fashion fans as they’re for gym lovers.

The trainers are there too, with the Adidas Originals’ Superstar, Tech Super and Attiude styles all being given leather and print makeovers. We’re guessing these will indubitably be the celebrities of the show.

The collection launches on March 6 in Topshop stores nationwide and online, with prices starting at £25. We’re envisaging this can be one collection this is going to fly off the shelves.

On your marks, get set, GO…

Vivienne Westwood’s Collection For The Cambridge Satchel Company Has Arrived

Vivienne Westwood designs collection for The Cambridge Satchel Company

Vivienne Westwood launches exclusive collection for The Cambridge Satchel Company

Vivienne Westwood’s exclusive collection for The Cambridge Satchel Company was the controversy of the InStyle office, since we first shared the exciting news last month. And now it’s finally here!

Having taken inspiration from her Autumn Winter 1981 Pirate collection, the legendary British designer has reworked the coveted satchel together with her original ‘Squiggle’ prints in red, yellow and brown.

And upon first inspection, the luggage certainly don’t dissapoint.

The team-up certainly appears like a match made in accessories heaven, with The Cambridge Satchel Company founder, Julie Deane, explaining, “Vivienne Westwood is an iconic British designer with a powerful ethical base and i’m incredibly happy with the association.”

Meanwhile the Westwood’s talented design team describes their new collaborators as ‘nostalgic and fun’.

Launching at Vivienne Westwood standalone boutiques and The Cambridge Satchel Company stores from 14 October, the exclusive designs could be available in two sizes priced at £195 (14”) and £165 (11”).

InStyle Meets Yasuko Furuta To chat Inspirations And Worldwide Domination…

my-wardrobe

To celebrate the launch of my-wardrobe’s new Shoe Boutique, we speak exclusively to 6 in their star footwear designers.

Toga Pulla’s footwear line only launched last year, but their buckle-clad boots have already become seriously hot property. Founded by former costume designer Yasuko Furuta, the mainline ready-to-wear collection, Toga, first launched in 1997 and have been quietly clothing in-the-know fashion editors and international bloggers for over a decade. With the launch of Toga Pulla, however, their secret is now out, so we can all get our hands on some of that experimental luxury that Japanese designers do best.

Everyone inside the InStyle office is obsessed with your boots…

That’s so great to hear! The response we’ve had has been wonderful and it feels great to be able to share our style with others.

Why did you decide to launch the Toga Pulla footwear line, on top of all your other successful collections?

I’ve been making shoes since our first collection in Japan, which were always rated really highly. With this new line we moved production to Portugal, allowing us to offer more styles at more accessible price points and introduce the range to a wider market across Europe. It has been a product of trial and error but I am very happy that we are able to realise new techniques and ideas that we couldn’t in Japan.

Cool metallic hardwares are becoming a design signature for this line – what is the story behind the use of these?

I love collecting vintage pieces, especially from the 1950s Americana period and sought to include a few of the subtle Western details and silver metal finishes in my designs. I’m even using them in our branding and the interiors of our Toga store in Tokyo, as it is so distinct!

What did you do before you launched your own label?

Before I launched my first Toga collection I was a costume designer, producing one-offs that always had to have an immediate impact on the viewer and almost a horror element to them.  The more I did that kind of work, the stronger my desire became to have an impact on a wider market, taking complex and contemporary ideas to a larger number of people through mass production.

What goals do you have for the brand within the future?

Ultimately i need to create a worldview that only Toga can give. I also desire to continue paying strict attention to product quality and hope to further establish the Toga Pulla footwear line with new ideas.
